The cartridge came in from Shapeways today. Oh man. These parts are gorgeous. The finish is interesting, almost looks like stone, but I love it. The detail is astounding. I couldn’t zoom in far enough to show the quality of this piece. Huge huge huge thanks to Hoolyhoo for these files. His work is absolutely perfect.

Note: You have to select “print it anyway” if you upload the front case, the system flags it for “thin walls” where the inside of the M comes to a point. There is zero issue with these files, just ignore it if you have Shapeways do it.

Outstanding! Curious on the dimensional accuracy. Do the two shells have a good snap fit?

Thank you for the photos :D

I didn’t snap them together because I didn’t want to try to take them apart, but I rocked one end in and looked at the other, and that baby is going to snap together like a dream.

Nice! Looks great. Which material did you choose from Shapeways for this anyway?

Grey HP nylon plastic. That was the toughest material.

FYI all, this fan cartridge DOES NOT interfere with HoolyHoo’s four DMG button bracket. I don’t have the fan to put in it, but it still looks fine. The fans are really thin. It’s all gravy!

Hi, I print that nice 3D fan cartridge. I’m just wondering now how I can fix the tab and the other power fan bracket into my case. Is there any pictures to show me how I can do this??

Front and back of cartridge is easy but with the other parts I have problems.

Thanks :-)

I'm working on assembling my first CSO and plan on using this fan cartridge. Two questions:
  1. Can this be used with the heatsink included with Kite's Circuit Sword or do I need to find a lower profile one?
  2. Where can I find an extension cable for the fan writing or do I need to make it myself?

Will need a lower profile one. Someone else posted a link for a nice one that is slimmer but larger width and length. Honestly I haven’t even put one on mine as the fan cartridge works that well.

Not sure on newer versions but on my mine I had to cut the cable on the fan anyways because there is no plug in kites board for the existing plug on the fan. So it was just a matter of splicing longer wires. :D

One more question, what size screws are needed to mount the fan to the cartridge?
