Wondering how the data migration is coming along. Should we wait for it to complete? Or everyone should be moving over their old threads esp the works progress posts?

We should consider moving the old thread manually... Since the mirage aren't guarantee.

I looked at the DB schemas and it is possible, but the user database would have needed to have been sync'd first, or else many of the threads would be orphaned. Now that they are running in parallel, it's a bit of a dog's breakfast and would be more of a pain than it's worth.

Thanks for looking at it Popcorn. I see some wordpress plugins for sort of syncing users between WP and phpBB, but from what I gather they are kind of hacky and create a sort of intermediate layer between WP and phpBB. So I'm not too keen to add something like that to it...

At this point I'm wondering if it's really worth it -- it seems like most of the transition pain is already over. Loads of folks have already moved their build-log threads over here, which in my opinion was the biggest annoyance (threads we know people would want to maintain over the course of a month or two).

It is no big deal, i just copied my threads here manually.
As long as we can read in the old forum to look for information/links/pictures we found there, i don't think we need a migration as such.

I took a swing at making a data dictionary for the Users from the old board to the new. Once we finish this, migrating the content will be really easy. So far, I mapped out probably about 70%, but there's a bunch of blanks here. If your name on the old board is one of these, and you changed your name registering to the new, can you let us know what your new name is?

Nah, just mapping them so when the import finally happens, your old posts will be under your new user. Thanks!
