This is so exciting! I already have VMU's lined up! I am planning to make 3. One for me and 2 to give as gifts!

Oh my gosh I am so glad I just discovered this. I am a longtime VMU collector. As the now-dated meme says, "take my money!"

My collection (pic in an old tweet):

Will this board work ok with the 1.3 Pi Zero? I have a handful of them still and this would be a great project to use them on. Once the image is setup I don't see a need for wifi on these.

Yep, the micro USB port on the top pictured works with an OTG cable (or those little OTG USB HUBs) so adding wifi via USB is easy anyway when you need it!

hi kite !
Good job and tank's for this project ! :).

I see you don't keep the idea of wermy to keep the vmu top connector for add it on a dreamcast gamepad.

Do you have for project to work on a custom board for dreamcast gamepad to plug the kite vmu (with his micro usb port), inside a kite deamcast gamepad (with a micro usb plug inside) ? That would be a nice solution to no ?

Have a nice day and week end :).

Yeah that's my plan :) haven't worked on it yet but basically inside the controller you just need a matching USB micro connector and it'll work great! Just need an Arduino as a gamepad sending keyboard inputs are you're away! :)
