Looks great! Don't suppose you could snap some pictures it running a few games when you are ready?

It is much better than the AV, especially in when the picture is NOT moving. In my first build I'm using one of those 3,5" AV screens, and I like the quality ingame, it's a bit more than okayish

One more advantage you gonna enjoy with this screen: It is 5v ready out of the box!

I still don't like the alignment, it's not centered.
Wonder by how much we can adjust that, not talking about the pixel mapping but the black border to the side...

I was thinking I might just flip mine and edit the config.txt to rotate the screen.

Flipping might do us no good, it's 1 side (that would go to your left or right).

However we can shave of a few mm of the backboard and compensate a bit.
Like for my case I'm working on now it pretty much already fits if not directly... now we know you can remove the backboard that allows for some flexibility. Don't know how it works out till I get mine in. Already got a mail my payment had arrived but now it's Chinese new year and that means a week of waiting before it actually gets send out.

The screen PCB comes with a 3,5cm phonejack... I just desoldered it already since I gonna go for wires instead of using a plug...

Here some more pictures after I have shorten the PCBs (screen + pi) and some tries to fit everything in:










If I go for the 180º HDMI plug, I will have to remove a lot from the inner of backside of the case, the room between the PCBs can be used for a little cooler/fan... Problem will be than, that cambles shutdown PCB won't fit anymore...

At aliexpress you gonna find a lot of angled HDMI connectors, probably it is possible to come up with a better positioning by using a combination of these, see https://de.aliexpress.com/item/20CM-FPC ... 52231.html

Some more pictures of trying to make the pi fit with the screen into the case, it's just a quick an dirty proof of concept:







With this positioning I need to come up with a new solution to keep the case closed with screws... The usual positioning of the L/R tactile switches is also lost... With a pi0 it would be much easier
