Ordered a 2.2" screen already. Now there's news about using a 2.4"?

It's okay. It should be sufficient for me anyway.

Do you think that we could use some sort of heat-shrink tubing for the screen wires?

Well I ordered 15 of the addon boards for the 2.2 screen alongside the button pcb so since there is no use now for them I can offer them to people. If wermy releases the STL with the cut out for it then it'll be useful for people who got the 2.2 screen.

The one linked by Wermy on ebay says they should have stock in a week for the 2.2" screens since I ordered one way before this posting of parts I should get mine in a few weeks. I'm not sure if they will have an abundance to keep selling but thing might be looking up for this crucial part. I am still looking into the 2.4" screens and they are on route to me for some testing and some kind of board design.

I'll send you one of these addon boards once I get them, unfortunately I don't have any ribbons for them but I can provide you a link to order a few after.

Another tip: If you don't want to spend $7 on a set of buttons, then another $3 on rubber pads, search for "Junk DS Lite" and you'll see loads of broken ones for around $6, often with free shipping. When those hinges and ribbon cables break, people just toss them. "Junk" seems to have more results for cheaper than "broken".

Also, DS Lites have two speakers in them. They're around 22mm in diameter and around 2.5mm thick. Not quite the right size for the specs wermy mentioned at 20mm, but probably close enough, of course depending on how components are placed and if there is a cup for it in the 3D print. If it doesn't work, you'll have them for another project.

I signed up for an email alert. I also need a 500mAh battery for my VMU build, but I'm not paying $10 in shipping twice. I'll wait and group things together.
