Wow, thanks, that's definitely worth the price difference. Hopefully they dont sell out before I get one.Cannikin wrote:I've got photos and videos in another thread: http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 2347#p2347Retrohead95 wrote:What's the quality of the screen like? It will definitely be your shutdown method, since i am using a USB DAC. Plus, you worked so hard on thisPopcorn wrote:@Fleder Google "GERT VGA 666". Might be a viable solution although you'll lose all your GPIOs
Edit: according to this, there are still 6 GPIOs free
With some remapping, you could still get PWM audio or graceful shutdowns
Also, i made myself a bit more space by switching my step-up module
Science, bitch!

Ah I love ceramic caps of high capacitance, they replace those bulky electrolytic capacitors wonderfully and are so tiny. Where did you buy that step up?

Do you mind showing us how youth connected your screen? Did you have to convert it to run off 5v?

Re: Full VGA resolution (640x480) 3.5" display, composite in
Yep, mine runs off of 5V just fine. It has 5V and GND connections on the controller board so I just wired one each of the 5V and ground GPIO pins on the Pi to those, and then the composite signal from the Pi to the controller board as well. You don't really need the separate composite ground wire as ground is ground and as long as you've got one you're good to go.dirtybeagles wrote:Do you mind showing us how youth connected your screen? The fit was also amazingly easy: it was a perfect fit to the GB case. I have the ribbon cable at the top, which ended up making the image inverted, but you can add a setting in /boot/config.txt to flip it around:
Code: Select all
display_rotate=2

My 640 screen arrived today. Same control board as Cannikin, and looks to be super easy to wire up. Job for the weekend.
