At this point I am at a standstill until somebody prints and tests fits. I have ordered a gameboy case and found a 3d printer to use. However it will take a while.

So I ordered some game boy parts, and I found a place that has a 3d printer (i hope). Until those parts come in I decided to try a new variant by having the buttons go straight down. If it works out well, i could add in a another bracket on the top to hold in the switches.

I updated the V3 files with the new straight down bracket.
I also peeked, I know that am getting a 3d printer for christmas. That will definatly help out with R&D

Ok I got some of my parts in the mail. So far I have the gamboy case, micro switches, battery cable, and button pads. First thing I did was compare the case to the 3d model I have been working off of to see if its accurate. It was a fear of mine that it would be wrong considering the top part of the model was modified for 4 face buttons. To my delight its pretty spot on. My next move is to go to a local library and use their 3d printer for a while.

To be honest the gameboy is a lot smaller than I expected. I didn't have one as a kid.

Also the admins and mods of this forum: After I got more accustomed this message board I am starting to think that this thread is in the wrong place. At first glance I thought this was a place for Gameboy zero hardware section and not a "help it doesn't work" section. This thread is more of an R&D work log. I didn't see the 3d printing and other sections till the other day. If you guys feel that thread needs to be moved, just go ahead and move it and let me know.

Called the local library and asked for details on thier printer, they need an estimate of how long it would take. Any way I can get an estimate on a 5th gen MakerBot?

I can give it a print and a test fit this weekend. My first printer finally came in.

Thanks man. Just do one of the sets. I would recommend sholderbutton bracket-v3 R carved 6mm-DOWN.stl and sholderbutton bracket-v3 L carved 6mm-DOWN.stl

If possible Let me know if they fit in the gameboy and if the tact switche fit in the bracket.

Thanks for creating this! I'm currently printing a modified version of your bracket using the original location of the shoulder buttons.

There is a half hole missing at the bottom which I've added here:
