Just removed the 8-pin chip as chaosratt suggested and the screen works great. No lines or distortions.
Thanks @chaosratt!

Re: New BW Variant - InnoLux 5v MOD DONE
I was finally able to remove this chip today, and it seems to be working much better. I haven't gotten to fully test it out yet, but this seems to be the right path.

I burned the trace where you had to solder on to the regulator, thanks to my cheap soldering iron.
Removed the removed the regulator and wired to the 5v trace and grnd trace on the back and the screen is working.
Saved me from having to buy a replacement screen.
Much thanks to everyone in this thread.

Re: New BW Variant - InnoLux 5v MOD DONE
Has anyone here had any experience with Version 3 of the Innolux Screen? (https://datasheet4u.com/datasheet-pdf/I ... ?id=707668), I'm having trouble getting mine to work. I've attempted bridging VCC to pin 3 of the chip as described in the mod guide but the screen is not displaying anything. Any tips?
