Printer bed

Post by L51 » Thu Jan 11, 2018 5:58 pm

Hey all. Just curious to see what everyone is using on the hot bed for a better part finish. If you could leave some links to what your using or know of some thing better than mask8ng tape as I'm not happy with the first layer quality.

Printer in an anet a8 in case you wanted to know!

Cheers all

I have kapton tape on my printer bed (200mm wide tape on a glass). The first layer is 200% of the normal thickness and 40% speed. The bed is regularly cleaned with acetone. It holds very well and is clean.

I use a PEI sheet. Gives a nice matte finish and everything I've used on it sticks great.

Late to the thread, as usual.

I’m using glass, with a quick coat of the best hairspray $3 CAD can buy. Works great. Glossy finish.

I use the Anycubic Ultrabase on my Anet A8. Prints stick amazingly well, pop off when cooled, and the surface is just wiped clean with alcohol.

Gluestick and a proper brim. After applying a thin base coat of glue I can basically use the bed forever. I print with a brim for added stickiness, just to be on the safe side.
