Re: [WIP] Fan/blower mount for kites circuit sword
I believe your solution will work very well. Just removing the warmer air from inside the case will benefit the cm3 chip. HoolyHoo, if you keep coming up with these incredible solutions at such a torrid pace, I'm going to pass out! Oh, and you should start your own thread as I think this will be very popular and I may need to get one of these from you.HoolyHoo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 7:12 pmHere is an alternative solution I'm working on for my build

Re: [WIP] Fan/blower mount for kites circuit sword
Are you talking about the air-duct solution? Recently I was busy with some private stuff, but yesterday I found some time to continue. I was thinking about how the air could leave the case. Since I don't like to make holes into the outer-walls of the gameboy shell, I came up with a solution which uses a game-cartridge which has a grill. Through this grill the warm air can escape out of the gameboy, let's see how it works
I doubt, that the usage of such a air duct comes with a big benefit... I am just doing it because it's different/cool/overengineered/makes fun
Hope I can "finish" it this week

I had to get one with more room. So I basicly combined AntFJ's grill with a blank I found earlier and came up something real quick.

Looks amazing! Tonight I will release the STLs for the air duct and my version of the modified game cartridge. I simply added a mesh where usually the Nintendo logo is placed (sorry, my CAD skills are VERY VERY limited).goodBEan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 3:22 pmI had to get one with more room. For anybody using the simple fan bracket and is having issues fitting this fan bracket and the included switch PCB I have modified the STL file to accommodate for the switch PCB. While the airflow it not ideal, I was able to keep the CM3 under 60°C while running N64 Golden Eye so for me its adequate.
File below: (Obviously this is not my own creation so all credit goes to derebbe for original design)
