That is so cool! The Wonderswan was my favorite handheld ever, I still play mine from time to time. It's so awesome to see a project like this.
Thanks! I hadn't seen one before and I'd never seen in person a WonderSwan. It's been a fun build.

I've got a NeoGeo Pocket Color to do next too.

This is a really cool build, and one I've been contemplating myself. I have a WonderSwan Color and I measured the screen opening to be 62mm x 39.5mm. Could you measure the screen opening of your "regular" WonderSwan for us? It'll help me decide which donor console to get. (A SwanCrystal is out of the picture ;) )

38mmx52mm is what my caliper says for the "seen" opening. Sorry for the late reply, didn't check my notifications!

No worries! My donors came in the mail last week. I'll be sure to share things once some other parts show up.

That's an awesome bit of info! I actually grabbed another lot of junk WonderSwans to redo this project in a better way. I used steel wool and removed the silk screen on one board, but I think I will be using button membrane switches from Adafruit and just drilling out the PCB to sink them. Tapping the wires was annoying before, especially when I end up cutting the PCBs out as well.

Hard to find a donor? Or housing and/or screen size not as convenient?

They're all over $100USD, but a regular wonderswan is $10 or so marked as JUNK.

I have 2 of these consoles coming and plan to make a plain pcb to hook up easily to a Pi0, if you guys can wait a few weeks I should have something soon you can order from OSHPark or similar place.
