This has inspired me to actually create one for myself.

Collected all the bits apart from the screen currently as i'm still unsure whether a teensy or the controller on a gpio ports is the way to go if i get a spi tft rather than the adafruit as there is a £25 difference roughly.

I will have to make a blog for my progress.

the adafruit tft *IS* SPI and a teensy will take up precious space, so go GPIO for sure

Thanks for the reply and suggestion abrugsch.

I just got a beaten up old gba sp yesterday so stripped that out for the motherboard after making sure the actual gameboy works.
Just need to figure out what i'm doing in regards to wiring as i've not done electronics for a fair few years.

Wow! Amazing!

Interested in building one as as it seems that I could easily obtain all the parts locally. Not sure if there are any differences but does it matter if I use any of any one of the SP boards (AGS-001 or AGS-101)?

Then again I might opt to wait for your SP board for an easier build. :)

I do not really remember which board I used, but I think both are the same :)

Would your board host a compute module?

I am interested to know if you were still going to make the PCB? Was hoping codeman0624 would make his AIO for the GBA SP but it looks like that project died (really too bad). I would like to make one of these if you ever find time to get the PCB made (I can imagine it's not an easy process)

Very cool build by the way. Your skills are legit.
