tinkerboy thank you for the reply i followed https://www.tinkerboy.xyz/gpio-button-g ... v2-0-v1-1/ as my pin out is this model out dated or is that ok for your controller
Yes that should be fine.

Check if the retrogame program is running by entering:

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep retrogame
You should get something like this:
retrogame_grep.PNG

That means retrogame is running just fine.

You should be able to configure your button inputs from RetroPie menu. Otherwise, try testing a button manually. Get a wire and touch one end to a GND and the other end to the GPIO5 pin on the Pi. You should get a response when you configure your input from RetroPie.

some pictures of your wiring would be really helpful for us to see how your soldering looks. Do you have a multimeter? you can test continuity on the buttons to see if they will work. I really doubt the PCB is damaged, unless you have scratched it heavily enough to damage traces.

Wiring seems okay from pics. But it is really hard to tell.

I would also switch the switch to go between the 5v output of the power boost, not the ground, but that's just what I would do.

You are using tinkerboys image correct? Have you tried a base image of retropie, and install retrogame yourself?
