SB Retro Mods/ GBZMODS

Post by Discohai » Fri Jun 21, 2019 11:36 am

Has anyone ever bought his custom gameboys? I put in an order last July and on his website. Then about a few weeks later it says it was back ordered. So, I figured I wait a bit. I sent him a few messages through his site and on his Instagram, but he never replied back. I really wanted the 1up mod he was selling so I waited more. I had family problems and forgot about it. By the time I tried to do a PayPal charge back it was already too late.

He started up his Instagram again as GBZMods recently and messaged him again hoping he correct the problem. Still no response. I guess I'm out a few hundred dollars.

Just a warning to whoever is thinking of buying anything from him.

I did about two years ago and never received them. It's a scam and I reported him to PayPal but unfortunately the time for such claim passed. They did ask me though if I c find other people scammed by him we can all make a case!

We need to find more people. It's sad, I really wanted that mod too. Well he blocked me on his Instagram and deleted our chat. Looks like he'll keep doing it and then ghost everyone eventually.

I bought from this guy as well and I’ve talked to him via email and he explained to me that he knows about this thread on this forum and that it will be removed soon. Furthermore he says he has sent refunds. I am waiting for my handheld from him to be arriving this weekend, he has sent me a tracking number and he seems to be a serious guy to me. So far. Just wanted to chime in to tell how it’s been for me. As I was scared that I would get scammed when I found this forum and read this. That’s why I had to contact him about it.

Unfortunately, Sam from Sb Retro Mods commented then deleted his comment, if he has something to say it would be great if he can repost it and discuss it with everyone here!

Sam seems always to be helpful when contacting him but never with a definitive answer, the usual replies are:

- " I’m really sorry about the delay in dispatching your order, both are built and ready to ship but I am waiting on the battery for the Game Boy Zero as one of my shipments for the batteries got returned to sender due to dangerous goods and I had to reorder them via a different shipping method. Im hoping the batteries arrive next week, but will keep you posted."

-"I remember shipping this at some point late March. I’ll see if I can dig out the tracking this evening"

- "I thought I issued a refund! I lost the PayPal Case number, can you provide me with the details, please! My PayPal doesn't show disputes older than 6 months"

- That website/forum has a negative review because of a person who dislikes me and my work!

and similar excuses to different buyers! I'll attach screen captures from 2 other buyers who got scammed! I'm also willing to share all corresponding emails between me and Sam!

Hi,

Please provide a screenshot of your purchase invoice and proof of delivery, it would be great in proving that this isn't Sam trying to save his skin!

Hi FaisKhalaf,

I have reached out to you via email in regards to this? DiscoHai has received his order - I’ll ask if he’ll confirm on here.

If you would send an email to sales@gbzmods.com I would be happy to look into this for you - whether you would like a new 1UP Pi-Boy XL or Full refund.

Keen to get this sorted.

Many thanks,

Sam

Attached is a pic of my emails with DiscoHai. Address is crossed out for privacy reasons, but shows the tracking with confirmed delivery.

Many thanks

Sam

It's has been a year since I put in the order with countless emails and all, but Sam did send me the Gameboy and partially refunded me some money. I'm just happy this is over with and I can start playing some SNES games at work.
