[SOLVED] pi not powered?
So its late, and im tired...and my multimeter is packed away - I will get it out tomorrow.
But..ive soldered the Pi to the pcb, "seems fine" but just for the sake of asking...does this look like a GPIO connection issue?
Powering the pi directly, screen turns on, emulation station boots etc...
Powering via usb on pcb (either) results in nothing. Sounds like GPIO soldering right? I can check the 5v tomorrow.

You need to have a battery plugged into the board for the TP board to function properly. Add a battery and it will work ok

Thanks KonnorJ, I have installed the battery but now there no leds light up, any suggestions?

The blue LED indicates fully charged. Turning on the Pi would turn on the red LED (load). I would guess that there's a connection issue between the Pi and the TP4056. Unfortunately I don't know how the safe shutdown PCB is implemented, so I would first check for continuity of the TP4056's Out pins to the respective GPIOs (5V and GND) on the Pi.
Additionally, the battery should get charged regardless of the connection state of the Pi. Did you check for continuity of the TP's battery pins and the battery?

Solid lines indicate continuity, dotted lines indicate no beep on multimeter for continuity but reading updating on meter: [EDIT]
Checking for continuity via resistance instead of "beep" shows that 5v out from TP is not getting to the Pi, ground is fine.
Any ideas?

First, I would try and make the battery charging work. For the charging to work, there must be a connection between the respective IN ports (lower left and write) and the USB (you did already check that this works) and between the B ports and the respective battery traces.
When charging works (red LED unless fully charged) you know that the battery is correctly connected to the TP4056. If your boot problem persists the power connection to the Pi needs to get examined. However, keep in mind that the safe shutdown circuit is most probably located somewhere between the TP and the Pi and I don't know how that influences your readings.
I just had a look at the TP datasheet. It might be a slightly different model but it should be generally applicable: https://www.addicore.com/TP4056-Charger ... /ad310.htm
It has descriptions for all ports as well as the LED states.

I had a problem similar... check/reflow your soldering on the small green board on the front of the pcb (with the switch on it). this is what solved my power problem.
