First Time Help

Post by Josh_E » Fri Sep 06, 2019 7:33 am

Hi,

I saw a video online of someone building their game boy zero and I instantly decided to have a go myself. I love to make things myself and have a product at the end that I will enjoy to use.
So I have slowly been collecting parts over the last couple of months. It has been a bit of a pain finding some parts or the wait times for bits aren't the best.

So I currently have:

DMG-01 Shell
D-Pad Button
4x X/Y buttons
Buttons Pads
Tinker Boy Button PCB V3.0.1 (Headphone Jack built in)
Speaker
Screen
Micro USB Breakout Board
Powerstrip PCB
Plus the 3D printed parts used by Wermy

I know that I am missing some parts but am getting closer to having everything I need.

I just needed some help with the more tricky parts of the build. So I have never soldered in my life or had to work out the electrics of anything so this is all new territory for myself but I am excited to have a go.
I have some 22 gauge wire but didn't know if this would be suitable to use for a project like this? If not then would somebody be able to suggest something that would be suitable.

Also I have been toying with the idea of some way to keep track of the battery level. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help and I can't wait to have my very own gameboy zero that I can say that I made myself

22 gauge wire is too thick and overkill anyway. For 5V connections I use 26 and for everything else you can use 30 or even smaller if you want. I use this: https://www.amazon.com/StrivedayTM-Flex ... 205&sr=8-4

Tinkerboy just released a script that enables battery monitoring on the V3 pcb.
