Question about busted comp monitors

so yea...i cracked the screen on my computer monitor, i know im pretty much screwed in regards to fix it myself. no biggy there, i got a line on a new one. my question is, could i conceivably salvage the lamp out of it? i feel like i could do something cool with that. attached picture of oopsy...

If it's a modern monitor it's likely LED and if it's not then it could be CFL which needs the inverter to power it but that has high voltage can you need to be careful with it.

i looked up the specs from HP and its an LCD
