Just noticed this post, yeah, I had a volume wheel but it didn't work too well so I removed it and opted for in game volume control (just like we see now in the minty pi builds). To get volume controls in game you need to set up some hot keys. You can look in the retroarch.cfg file, in there you will find some lines that say something about volume control, remove the '#' from those lines and add the button. For mine I used select + up for volume up, and select + down for volume down. You can used what ever buttons you want. It will be linked with you hotkey (default select).

Hi,

I Just recieve this display.
Can you explain me how connect it to the raspberry or give me link to tutorial who explain how to do this ?
I understood there's no need a powerboost, but I can't find anything about the connexion of the display.

Thanks to everyone.

If you received the same display as I used in this build, then yes, you will need a boost module to provide 5v to the screen. You do not need to make any modifications to the screen though, since it will run on 12v and 5v no problems. Check this for wiring info for composite screens:

Also check the wiki for information on most of the common screens used:

I'm curious: is it worth it to have case borders around the screen (and Gameboy Zero screen protector)? They partially cover the screen - is it ok? I think that image can be adjusted to fit the visible part, but seems that it will be distorted.

We'll since you cut out the screen it would be nice to have a border that fits that. So yeah it is worth it to have a nice glass cover and leave a lip to adhere to. (they are very easy to find nowadays too).

I guess if you cut out a square opening in the gameboy you would not have to worry about any lost space in the screen, but you won't find a nice square glass cover.

Alternatively, you can keep the existing opening and use overacan to shrink the image to fit. (I have done that in some builds too).
