Mintypi v3 will not Shut Down Properly

Post by SteamPunk » Thu Jan 09, 2020 6:02 pm

Hi, I am a new user with intermediate soldering skills. I assembled my mintypi v3 from the July pre-order. All of my soldering was correct and individually tested. However, to my disappointment, I was unable to shut down my Mintypi v3 with the magnet or through the Retropie menu. I could shut it down by holding the power button, but that is a risky way to corrupt the sd card. It would phase me through a reboot screen. I have used two Samsung 32 GB Evo Plus cards with the 20190721.img, and it still resulted in the same result. Can the mods/creators or someone explain a fix for this?

I'm not sure of the cause yet myself but some powerboards are causing this behavior, I can send you a new one that will fix the issue. Just swap it out with the one you have now and it'll work, what was your order number? It should start with WC- then a number.

This was last summer but either way I'll send you a new Powerboard.

I am also experiencing this issue, I am at my wits end trying to get my Mintypi to shut down properly, I have checked continuity multiple times, tried several different Retropie images, but the system just will not shut down. Everything else seems to work fine however the system just will not turn off if I use my magnetic screw driver or go through the menu to shut down.
