robots86 GBZ
Hi sudo mod
I just wanted to share some photos of my completed project.
Its actually my second build, the first not going quite to plan. My cutting and drilling was not very clean and i had issues with some button inputs. Anyway i stripped some parts and recycled them over to v2!
For V2 i decided to use the SNES L & R buttons.
I have no cartridge reader or hdmi out. I couldn't close the case with a full size usb out so i matched it up with the charger port and fitted a micro usb instead.
Here's some photos. Sorry for the poor quality....
A special thanks goes out to wermy for making all this possible and bringing everyone together.
Thanks to all the regulars like fleder, chiz, brian etc for being there to answer my questions and to everyone else at the forums for all the help and support.
Thanks to grenade for organising my button pcb
And thanks to dom for my screen surround and cartridge sticker.
Next project i want to do something similar but with a pi3. More power, more buttons, more games

Oops, pressed the thanks button trying to get to the quote button. Oh well, you're an alright guy with a good attitude, so thanks!
The gbz looks great! The white buttons are an interesting take that makes it look quite clean.

Thanks Kilren. Yeah the matching buttons look great against the shell. I noticed a similar one which was all black and thought it would look good in white.... I went with NES buttons because i like the arrows on the d pad

Did you modify the battery case clip? Can you post more photos if you modified it? It looks like you did from the picture. I am trying to figure out how I want to modify mine to fit my larger battery.

Wow! This is a great surprise! Believe it or not, I was searching for your build in the show-off forum and since I didn't see your post, I thought you're still waiting on parts. And here you are posting a completed build!
Very nice build overall! I also like the white buttons - clean and unique. Very in seeing build pics if you have them.

Hey db. Some photos as promised.
I basically cut the original off, shortened it and then made a join in the end.
It kind of works the same but theres not really any bend in it like before. But it sits in nicely and is secure enough not to fall out.

Thanks for the feedback chiz and the inspiration for SNES buttons. My cut out for them is really clean but slightly larger than ideal. Still happy with it though.
Yeah my camera was so rubbish that i didn't bother with build photos. Ive got a few i took at the very start and I've just borrowed a camera now for some more completed photos..
Sorry that theres not much of in progress but I'm happy to answer any questions
