Screen Protector

hello! first time posting on the forums
i have been building a game boy zero, and while i was working away i was looking at the screen and thinking it needed a protector. so i took the original protector from the game boy and soaked it in nail varnish remover. all the gray markings came off and now i have a nice clear screen protector. i dont know if this has been mentioned on the forums before elsewhere, but i thought id post it anyway incase anyone else was looking for a solution.

Nail varnish remover, if I'm not mistaken, is usually made from acetone, which is known to melt plastics. How long did you soak the original protector? Surprised that it didn't melt.

That's funny because I soaked mine in acetone as well with the same idea. But mine didnt come off. Granted it wasn't an original protector, it was a replacement.

It was literally. 5-10 seconds. Rinse and repeat until it all came off

Think I will give this a go, unlikely to use the protector anyway.

Just echoing what chiz said. Keep acetone away from your nice GBZ shell. Even a small drop will melt the plastic within the second it takes to wipe it away, leaving a weird shiny spot (if you're lucky and that is all it did) on it. Work in a different area from your GBZ.
