Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Completed]
I'm thinking of doing a blank tin as well with logos like this. I'm going to see if I can find someone locally to laser engrave on the tin. I'm trying to decide what to put on it. Definitely Retropie, MintyPi, Sudomod, Emulation Station, and Helder. Do Wermy or HoolyHoo have logos too? I want to acknowledge those that make this project possible on it.

Veteran, please tell me where you bought the tin in Europe, i cannot find any seller with reasonable price. I have one on amazon asking 7.5€ per tin (adafruit ones)
Thanks a lot

Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Completed]
the one that i originally used in this build is from a seller on eBay.....
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Empty-Tin-Hi ... Pl3lwhSwyw
one for £1-79 or 5 for £5.99
his service (within the UK) is great, and he sends them out in boxes (came in perfect condition)....
but be warned, their not exact altoids replicas, i had to modify (dremel) my 3d prints a little for everything to fit....
i'm in the process of changing (updating) the first build (when i get some time) by adding in a headphone socket
so instead of reusing the original tin....
I've had a set of updated 3d parts printed...
also redesigned the decals little (thanks to the sudomod logo changing)
and i bought another tin, this time from the Pi Hut (which is apparently a better fit)
https://thepihut.com/products/adafruit- ... -sized-tin
only snag with the Pi Hut, they send it out in a jiffy bag (not a box)....
the first one i ordered, i received dented, i sent it back and the replacement also came in a jiffy (but luckily was ok)

Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Completed]
the corners are slightly off (but not major)
the major issue with the tin i received from him was that the hinges are a little lower than the altoids tins...
this means the 3d prints in the lid will catch as your closing the tin....
and the hinge might need some work
on the plus, it also mean the lid is a little deeper, which i think makes it look a little better....
the adafruit one looks to be a better fit (and i've seen other build that have used it and not reported any issues)

Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Completed]
so, i didn't see - did you end up using any clear coat?
i haven't tried the waterslide decals yet, but that just looks pretty great, so i think i'll have to give it a try. i was going to do vinyl, but it sounds/looks like waterslide may be the better way

the bottom of the tin has been done with Water Slide Paper/Decals (only clear coated as it was printed using a inkjet printer)
the top of the tin is vinyl wrapped with the design printed on the vinyl
but check Helder instagram @angryhelder
he's just taken it to the next level.....
