Experience with Standard sized AA Batteries (3,7V)?

Post by Namelesshero » Fri Oct 06, 2017 8:47 am

Hey 90´s kids,

i wondered if anyone has experience with Batteries sized as normal AA but with 3,7V
like:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-7V-14500-2500 ... 100623.m-1

Should be the same as:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5PCS-3000mAh-Li ... 5731.m3795

The AA Batteries would have 4x 2500mAh and the Battery tray is anyway just used for the power.

Does anyone have experience with those? :ugeek:

Thanks in advance.

If you achieve to get more than 900mAh from those batteries, you can feel lucky

The best quality cells cannot provide more than 1000mAh at this size so do not even expect from them 2500mAh ;)

If it was possible, do you think sudoers here would bother finding phone batteries or pouch batteries to put in their build ?

You’d better go with that kind of battery

In my signature, you can find my build log using this battery. So you can see how well it fits the battery case.

the round metal cans take up space, and the gaps between them too. you will need to reconfigure the springs too, they are designed for series connection
Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

It is not that hard just a bit more work.

Since these are a bit longer than normal AA batteries you won't get them to fit with the contacts that are there, you have to remove them and with a little modding connect these batteries in parrallel. That would give you 4* 900mAh.

I did this on my first build using these batteries https://www.aliexpress.com/item/FS-Trus ... 0.0.N8QBfS
