Removing display board from screen. BW var. 8

I am trying to remove the board from my BW screen while I test fit things and I swear it is on there with concrete. I'm afraid of bending the back of the screen. I have variant 8 from the wiki.

Does anyone have experience with this one and have a safe method or trick to remove it without destroying something?

I've never removed one, I've always bought bare screens. Is it held with some sort of tape? Or hot glue? Maybe you can slide a sharp knife beneath to scrape some of the tape? Be sure to disconnect the ribbon cable too, since you don't want to rip it or anything.
