Mode button “stuck”, buttons not working randomly.

Post by ZahcStarKiller » Mon Jul 09, 2018 12:52 pm

Hey all. Weird issue.

I have a new Kite CS build. It was working fantastic last night, I plugged it in for a full charge, went to play it today, and the buttons (ABXY) aren’t responding. When I press the D pad, it will turn the volume up and down and the brightness up and down, so it seems to be stuck in “mode” or “shift”. Kind of confusing. Anyone have an idea why it’s doing this and how to make it stop?

(The mode button is not physically stuck).

Thanks!

Nevermind. I’m an idiot. The pins on the mode button are contacting the USB-C port. The circuit is effectively bypassing the switch.

Indeed :) I'll make it clearer on the installation steps, but there is already this on the wiki: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... ys-pressed

If you find that the mode button is still stuck, after you use some kapton tape, you can loosen the case screws a bit. I found if you tighten the case all the way down it will put pressure on the switch and it will stay engaged.
