There are 2 diagrams on the first post it's simple to follow. If you have the red one then you can buy the parts to add the amplifier yourself or use an external one. The red one is blank and can be populated or used mainly for the buttons like many of the other people selling button PCBs.

If you have the Blue PCB then everything is all on it like the audio amplifier and PWM Filter and yes you can use this with the volume wheel or not and same goes to the Red Board.

I don't see how you can ask this since a clear and simple picture explains it but if you don't understand a part of the install just ask.

The 5v is to be connected to the board IF you have the onboard amp if not then don't connect it, you know what 5v is right?

I do not know what 5v is. Is it what is wired up to the powerboost? Im sorry if these are stupid questions, the last time I tried to build something was about 9 years ago and it never worked. I saw this online and thought it would be a cool project. I have my board attached. Where would I go from here? Would I follow what you did in the first pictures on the first page or can I ignore that and go back to following Wermy's videos? Thank you in advance.x

You have a blank board (no chips, resistors nor capacitors) so you don't need 5v. 5v means 5 volts of power coming from a power source... But since your board has nothing needing power, you can leave it disconnected.

Does this help answer your question?

Edit: some more information: Helder sells different boards. Some with all the "bells and whistles" included, some are blank which means they have spots for you to attach the necessary components like resistors & capacitors. It looks like you bought the blank board, which will work just fine as the controller you hook up to your teensy, but it won't have the sound amplifier feature.

You should still follow wermy's guide. The board you have only cuts out the second installment of his guide pertaining to the original DMG board. Other than that everything in the guide will need to be done.

I ordered one red board and one blue board, the red board ordered two weeks before the blue. I received the blue board yesterday (thanks Helder) but the red board seems to have got lost in the post...

If you don't get it by the end of the week let me know in a PM.
Spoke too soon. Guess what came in the post yesterday ;) .

Just waiting for a few parts to arrive...cannot wait to start my builds.

What about Helders Guide on the very first page that shows it being wired up to a Volume Wheel and the Speaker. Is that still a necessary step?

My guide is for if you plan to use the board how I designed it with the PWM Audio in mind but it can be wired to work with a USB DAC too. The end result of the speaker and headphone does not change at all so that should be followed.

Hey Helder,
Any idea of when the board with audio will be back in stock?

You mentioned that this needs to be used with a Teensy board. Is there no way that (as with other DMG Common ground pcbs) it can just be connected to the GPIO pins?

Edit:- Apologies I'm being thick. This question has already been answered. A further problem though is that since I'm not using an original gameboy, that I don't have anywhere to anchor a volume control / potentiometer grrr

When the All in One boards arrive next week I'll have audio boards too, did a double order from the same place.
