Like a volume wheel? Or a normal potentiometer?
normal potentiometer. http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/trimpot-10k
Or, maybe a way to use it without a potentiometer? I'm sorry about all this, but a "Ghost" Radioshack left me empty handed. I could tell you the story, but I don't think anyone cares.

Have you tried the config file edits to include the PWM Audio?
Have you tried to increase the volume in the emulator itself?
Have you tried connecting the Pot1 to Pot 3 and Pot2 to Pot4?

The Pot you can try to hook up the left pin to Pot1 and middle leg to Pot3 and the right pin to GND, see if that works if the above has been tried already.

First Order Boards might have control issues because if no analog stick is used the controls can be random. Flashing a new code without analog stick support will fix it, @wermy is trying to fix this in the code.

If anyone has controller issues( in game and menu controls) let me know and I'll post a guide to flash the atmega with the code.

Not at this time no, if there is demand then perhaps.

Helder, I decided to test my board by plugging it in to my computer. It makes the "device connected" sound, but about 5 seconds later it disconnects. Does this mean that the Atmega32U4 is coded wrong and I accidentlied it?

Thanks for the heads up. Since I don't plan on using the analog I will just flash the new code to ensure I don't run into issues later. Now to find an old usb cable to splice apart!

Edit:. Forgot about the usb console cable that came with my pi zero starter pack, that fits the bill perfectly.

I don't know what you've tried or done si can't answer that. All I know is that I programmed it correctly as I tested it and windows discovers the device. Try using the link at the bottom of the first post as that has drivers that you will likely need.

As programmed, one should to be able to open up notepad and the key presses should register as characters right? No separate driver install necessary? Or does that only apply to the teensy.

This is programmed as a gamepad not a keyboard, but @Oxodao said he was working on a keyboard program for it. The drivers needed for this is on the first post at the bottom of this thread and is needed so that the Arduino IDE sees the board's chip so it can be reprogrammed.

Once all firmware is working correctly I'll have a guide up on how to reprogram these boards and @wermy is thinking of doing it through the Pi itself so that might be another route to go once he has a script made.

You can also get a $4 ISP programmer (sometimes cheaper) and no drivers needed and is faster and easier to program.
