So my first Targus USB hub I couldnt get working, and when I de-soldered the white wire from my pi zero, the PP pad came off. Are there any alternative ways to connect my teensy to the the pi zero? I was considering just soldering it to a male micro USB and plugging it in, but that seems clumsy.
Also, getting a USB hub to reliably work has been a headache, how crucial is it? Why not just hook my teensy right up to the pi?

You can carefully scrape the solder mask away from the trace and solder directly to it. Use some hot glue to support the connection.

Couldn't you just plug in a micro USB cable to the Zero, and solder the wires inside it to the hub?

You can also remove the microUSB connector entirely, but it's not easy and you risk more damage.

That's what I ended up doing, but I dont like it. Also, I still cant get any USB hub to work. Every thing is hooked up correctly and not touching anything, I've checked everything for days and tried 2 different Targus hubs. Do Targus hubs just not work on 1.3?RxBrad wrote:Couldn't you just plug in a micro USB cable to the Zero, and solder the wires inside it to the hub?
