How many videos?

Post by tanooki » Fri May 13, 2016 10:57 am

@wermy
Just curious. Since it appears that the project is nearing completion and there will be a lot packed into video 4 (can't wait!), how many more videos will there be? Thanks.

I'm thinking 2, maybe 3 more. The big chunks left are:
• Mounting all the misc little things and wiring those up (which will be the bulk of the next video)
• GPIO Sound (I may also show options for using USB sound)
• Cartridge SD Card adaptor

So yeah, likely 3. :)

Soon as I can. :) I really don't get a ton of time to work on this, maybe 1-2 hours in the evening if I'm lucky, and stuff takes like 10x longer than it normally would when you have to film yourself doing it, explain it all, etc. I also have been trying to squeeze in some time for things like improving the forums, answering questions, etc.

I'm not complaining, mind you -- I'm loving doing it and seeing others do it. It's just surprisingly time consuming is all, and with where I am in life I don't get a ton of spare time. :)

We absolutely appreciate the effort. Long term projects are very fun and this is as long term as you could ask for for something so awesome. Love seeing a community spring up out of nothing like this too. Methods of doing things in the build get easier by the day as the forums grow which is both somewhat frustrating but also interesting to see develop.

Thanks! Watching the community spring up and grow has just been awesome. Really hoping/trying to keep it going. :)

Back to the topic though, I'm going to knock out a few to-dos for the site/forums tonight and start on the next guide tomorrow. I don't foresee it taking as long as the past couple -- it's nothing too intense, just mounting/wiring up several pieces.
