Raspberry PI 3 007 Goldeneye gameplay
Since many were wondering how Goldeneye runs on the Pi 3 I thought I'd record a quick video showing gameplay. It's not perfect but it's definitely playable. https://youtu.be/wmNj5VsGe_U. I'm actually quite surprised it ran so decent considering it lags or is even unplayable on emulators on different consoles. The video is kinda crappy so I might redo it if needs be.

Interesting, thanks for sharing!
I wonder how well it would run on a Pi Zero...

I was wondering the same thing. If it runs well enough I could just scrap this and use the pi zero since this consumes alot more power and is said to overheatcrispy_tofu wrote:Interesting, thanks for sharing!I wonder how well it would run on a Pi Zero...

Unfortunately it won't run well enough on the rpi0 to be worthwhile. It barely (and I emphasize barely) ran on the rpi2.Retrohead95 wrote:I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for clarifying. I'll just stick with the pi 2 then.Kilren wrote:Unfortunately it won't run well enough on the rpi0 to be worthwhile. No problem. Good luck on the GBZ. Just in case you don't know, monday is supposed to get some rpi0 available.Retrohead95 wrote:Thanks for clarifying. I'll just stick with the pi 2 then.
As for PSX and N64 games, don't give up the idea. It's just not likely happening in a handheld. Make the coolest arcade center anyone has ever seen.

Thanks man. Means a lot. I'm sure you're building something awesome as well. I plan on using the pi 3 as my tv arcade console and order the pi 2 to use in my gb. Then I could also use the as a controller on the pi 3 tooKilren wrote:No problem. Good luck on the GBZ. I wouldn't be afraid of the hot glue. It is a really lazy and easy way to insulate needed wires. Just do it clean enough to allow things to still move when needed (at the solder points), and then find a new system for insulation for what you want to move around.Retrohead95 wrote:he hard part is avoiding hot glue because I plan on using screws so I can upgrade everything later.
Also, hot glue is easy to remove once it is there. An xacto knife, and some tweezers and its short work. If you're still against hot glue, just make sure you find another insulator to avoid potential interference.

I agree. Hot glue really is versatile, and it doesn't have to be messy if you don't want it to be.
And of course, not all hot glue sticks are the same, so choose one accordingly to get the best results.

Re: Raspberry PI 3 007 Goldeneye gameplay
Thanks guys. I did use hot glue I got from hobby lobby to glue wires down on my controller board but after trying to remove the glue I managed to rip all the wires off. Then again I didn't really solder them down good enough. Think the glue should be fine as long as I solder the joints properly.crispy_tofu wrote:I agree.
