Re: Tackling Graceful Shutdowns on the GBZ
Here is a demonstration of the Power-path controller working with the Pi. This is without the battery, but everything will work the same with a battery. PCBs have already been designed and ordered with the Button/switch controller integrated with the battery charger and boost controller. It is a little bigger than the powerboost to accommodate the extra components. Ill be looking for a couple people to test the boards in the US once they arrive and I have them built. I will write a tutorial on how to wire them up and how to configure Retropie to work with them once I have the proto-boards in house.

Count me in as volunteering to test. How much do you think these would cost? And it does the same thing as the powerboost including playing while charging?

Yes. All other functionality will remain the same.Ganreizu wrote:Count me in as volunteering to test. How much do you think these would cost? And it does the same thing as the powerboost including playing while charging?

I may be interested in testing depending on the cost.prerunnerseth wrote:Yes. All other functionality will remain the same.Ganreizu wrote:Count me in as volunteering to test. How much do you think these would cost? And it does the same thing as the powerboost including playing while charging?

@prerunnerseth you should look at producing this as a commercial product. I bet the GBZ isn't the only project this could be applied to. Pretty much all battery powered IoT devices need this. Amazing work!

Wow, nice job! I am really interested in buying one of these if they are going to be produced!
Let's hope there is a EU friendly shipping method, too.

Re: Tackling Graceful Shutdowns on the GBZ
Whoops. Just saw this. (I was vacationing the last couple days so not reading everything). I'm using a Python script currently but have a proper daemon setup. It's a mish mash of code out there. Will post it when I'm happy with it.prerunnerseth wrote:@popcorn
I have my circuit running wonderfully, but having and have the Kill command running awesome too using GPIO power-off. ONly thing I'm missing is the daemon to detect when to shutdown from a command from the controller. Can you share where you found the information?
THanks
I think i found it... are you using the python script?
