What is the link of the analog stick you bought? I can then tell you how to wire it and yes you need to reprogram it for an analog stick.

Anyone having static or noise on the audio is common with PWM and it can be minimized using @Paddy's suggestions a few pages back of basically wrapping a wire around the PWM audio wires and soldering each end to GND on the Pi and GND on the AIO to Shield it against interference.
