Edit: 100th post!

Copper tape and etching are both options. I used copper tape in my original build (I didn't want the responsibility of showing a bunch of newcomers how to use dangerous chemicals to etch their own at home haha). It's not the cleanest-looking but it works.
Oh, sweet! I assumed it would take longer to put a PCB together. I might still need to go the tape route because I'm trying to have two built by June 4th but we'll see. Fingers crossed.wermy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 10:48 amCopper tape and etching are both options. Also just by way of an update: Helder and I have about finalized the PCB - it's going to make it so much easier/cleaner on the inside.![]()
I love custom PCB's but I know some people want more DIY options, and actual DS lite PCB's have everything in the right place, but need cutting up. I'm looking into that as an option. The original PCB's are common ground, and have test points for attaching wires to make them usable.
Hopefully you'll be able to get it done in time! I'd really like to avoid putting out a guide, having people start on doing everything by hand, and then a couple weeks later have another option that most people would have wanted to choose in the first place. I'll at least show how I did it by hand though when I put the guide together.
As I am doing two, I would do one with Helders/Wermys PCB and with your more DIY optionabrugsch wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:05 amI love custom PCB's but I know some people want more DIY options, and actual DS lite PCB's have everything in the right place, but need cutting up. Yes it will be more ghetto/DIY. some people dig thatdead DS's are easy to find and the hinges break on them and nobody wants to fix them. I'm stripping non-functional ones (not just broken hinges) for the cartridge header and have a load of spare PCB's. I'm selling them cheap as they would otherwise just be landfill from me.
Once the 3D printed parts are available I'll have a guide for using original PCB's if that appeals to you.
Hey guys can someone explain me this PCB thing people are talking about..affensause wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:08 amAs I am doing two, I would do one with Helders/Wermys PCB and with your more DIY optionabrugsch wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:05 amI love custom PCB's but I know some people want more DIY options, and actual DS lite PCB's have everything in the right place, but need cutting up. It stands for "Printed Circuit Board." Helder and I are working on a custom one that you can use for the buttons and a couple other things, so you'll have a nice, clean machine-made part rather than one you'd have to cobble together by hand. Just much cleaner and easier.
