Not yet...it'll probably be a week at least. I'll update the post here when I do!
If I am up for it, I may do this this afternoon. I will let you know if I do.

I completed all my wiring today and this circuit works for me. However, the GB potentiometer doesn't completely turn off the speaker for me, just changes it from mid to high pretty much. It does work great for the headphone jack though and will turn it from off to plenty loud. I am going to play with alsamixer and the amp potentiometer to see if that helps.

Also, I am getting noise in the speaker to a small degree when nothing is playing and to a large degree when using headphones. My cables are not finalized, just hooked together, so I will probably be working to do some shielding and getting signal away from power to see if that helps.

Do you have any pictures of your progress you could show? I am curious on how you cut the original headphone jack.

I think the recommendation is to usually turn up the volume coming out of the Pi to minimize noise.

For the speaker I maybe a combination of that plus the pot on the amp will help get the full range on the volume control for the speaker?

Thanks for the effort! :D
Once confirmed the diagram is working and have no mistakes, I can make this post sticky and I think it will help a lot of people ;)

I was desoldering the USB connections and I got it off but these little ting strips came off with it. Looks like they were glued down (you can see them in the pic). Can someone tell me these are? It does not look like I can re-solder wires back to the endpoints so I am assuming they are copper strips? Can I repair it or is my sound card trashed now?

Thanks for the help!

@dirtybeagles it does look like those are the copper pads where you desoldered. I've had this happen before when I left the iron on for too long. It might be salvageable if you can scrape the area around those pads a little and see if you can expose the circuit to solder the wire to it.

This is similar to what is done in @wermy tutorial with the existing gb circuit board.

Really helpful, thank you kindly!

Ultimately I ended up purchasing another USB sound card that chiz showed pictures of in his post. This time I was a lot more careful and how I was pulling off the components and I think I was successful in keeping all those pads attached. One thing I did try is attached little copper tape to wear those copper pads work I'm not sure if that works because I tested it with a multimeter and I could not get a solid connection. I'm wondering what success other people had in the soldering components and any tips when it comes to the USB sound card it seems to be very very difficult.
