the generic/banggood or adafruit are the best options.....
if cost is an issue go for the generic/bangood.... only real difference is things like low batt led and lack of brand
if cost is not an issue go for adafruit 1000c has all the bells and whistles
these two are tried and tested

Re: Alternative power Manager
I have ordered several of these for other projects. I think I pay about 60 cents shipped though. I get most of my stuff from aliexpress.
Re: Alternative power Manager
Managed to buy the 1000 basic (newb) the banggood one is out of stock at the min but will probably go for the 1000c as you said it has everything
Cheers for the reply much appreciated

Re: Alternative power Manager
I have not. I don't see why it would not work though. You will just be using 2 boards instead of one.

This looks like it would work also:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5V-1A-M ... 0.0.jVmkJ7
or this one
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-7-V-L ... 0.0.jVmkJ7
or a 2AMP board

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-7-V-L ... 0.0.jVmkJ7
or a 2AMP board

i'd scrap the other two and go for the middle one (you found it slightly cheaper then i did)

its a board alot of people have used, there no point trying to reinvent the wheel (you may have issues)
even though the first one doesnt look that bad if your gonna use an 18650 set (maybe good for the wii u gamepad)
