Help - USB dac solder pad - repairable?

Post by Robots86 » Tue Jun 21, 2016 11:57 pm

Hi

I have some how managed to rip the ground solder pad off my usb dac. Its the sabrent version that a few people seem to be using. Is there a way off fixing this or some sort of work around? Or will i need a new one?

You can use a flashlight and look for the traces.
Drill a hole into it and fill it with solder. If you are lucky it will work.
I removed the MIC first so i know what to do when i got to the headphone jack and ripped them out, too.

I had it soldered fine to the back end of the usb port but i decided to break the usb port off to save a bit of space and i was having trouble desoldering it. Took the solder point clean of with it. wish id have left it now

I also happen to lift the ground solder pad. Just solder to the earphone jack's solder pad, if still intact. They're connected and I have mine working connected like that.

Bringing this post back. Sorry Im a noob and this is a learning project for sure.

So I too accidentally popped off a soldering pad on my Sabrent USB DAC but I popped off the ground of the PHONE 1 section:
Image
The two pads on the right I dont need but the three on the left I do according to the diagram I am using:

I am wiring mine based off of DirtyBeagle's diagram in this post: viewtopic.php?f=42&p=9081#p9081.

Am I correct in assuming that the pad that I popped off is the ground pad? And if so, can I instead wire to the ground of the USB port to the ground on the headphone jack?

Or do I just need a new sound card?
