for me, this screen seems a better option than a Gearbest/BW/Composite....moosepr wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2017 1:26 pm30fps isnt too shabby, especially for such a cheap and simple screen setup. If you nudge the speed up any further, you will just get crazy screen. This is what happens if i do speed=100000000
@codeman0624 has done some digging and found the actual spi speed you get is actually linked to the core frequency of the pi, so you are limited to the speeds that actually make an impact on standard installs. Overclocking the pi will mean that you get a higher clock speed, and so in turn a faster spi bus, and as a result, higher FPS
will cost cheaper, look alot clearer and if wired properly should have a lower profile than the others....
(just need to find one with a better viewing angle, like Wermy & Helder have done with the mintyPi revision)
i actually did notch it up to 120000000 right at the begining of setting it up (me trying to be over smart ), as it worked at 99000000 on the initial install.... didnt go so well
i did see codeman0624 post on this....
but i've held off on messing with overclocking and other setting (for now)
the last time i tried to overclock hoping to get some mame games working better, i couldnt get it stable (crashed alot)....
one of the reasons might have been i was trying to wing it without really knowing what i was doing....
im definitely gonna look into it a bit more, as it might just help with this screen (if only a little)
