No contoller found

Hello all. First time builder here with a question about the tinkerBOY PCB, following this guide for wiring:

I cannot get it to find any controller. Here is a photo of what I've got right now.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

PS. I'm new to EVERYTHING here, so my soldering looks terrible compared to most of the things I've seen on here.... pretty embarrassed

That's the wiring guide for the audio (the page via the link)...

Have you also wired up the controls to the (long row of solder point) to the raspberry pi...

If you have, you should just be able to install his .img and your good to go...

If you haven't wired the controls...
Well there's your issue, wire them, do a fresh install, and your good to go....

Ahhhh. I was jumping the gun. I thought I could supply power to it and get it recognized before pressing any buttons.

Thanks for your help (I'm sure I'll be needing a lot more of it!)!!
