i've been a bit off the forum because of intensive work on many projects and i thought it was time to make some show off and teasing to enlighten what i was busy on, well at least some stuff i was busy on

The project is called Vertipie and was first initiated by WillbakesPi thanks to his programming skills.
He is preparing an image to run many vertical games with a Raspberry Pi 3 based hardware. It's based on attract mode and is running in tate mode (vertical mode). I am not going to develop the software side as WillbakesPi would do it better than me

You can check his instagram to learn more and see the image in action https://www.instagram.com/invader_meh/
The prints 3D prints of the cabs are made by Dryja123, you can check his instagram to show the (beautiful) result with his awesome precise Prusa Mk3 printer. I must confess that the 6+ months waiting was worth

As for me, i'm sticking to my speciality : graphics

So i've designed from scratch some decals to wrap the cabs to give them a cool look

Here are the results :
The process was a bit complex.
I had first to dismantle the 3D model so i can have flat surfaces Then i retrieved the outlines of the controller (an 8bitdo NES 30) from the 8bitdo pdf manual I put all the vectors in illustrator and started messing them around (obviously they were not exactly the good size) by superposing them on a controller picture taken from internet so i was able to align correctly the outlines with a "real" controller

Then when the outlines were set, i've started the design process in photoshop and illustrator by using vector dynamic objects and i've double checked that the outlines were the same as the 3d model. Then finally, i have worked on the 3D model to make placeholders for the image exported with transparency so i can hot swap the decals as i want
