BW Screen not working

Let start off with I had a screen working just fine. But as I started putting more and more things together it stopped working. I originally had BW screen variant 7 modded according to method 2. As stated it worked at first. but as I was nearing completion of everything but the audio the screen quit working. I assumed I had somehow damaged the screen or screen controller in the process of putting everything else together. However after ordering another screen I had no luck still. This screen is variant 8. I have noticed that the screen back light flickers on for a second and then right back off whenever i first turn it on. Also output from the HDMI also works. I have checked for any short on the boards and I don't see any. Can anyone shed some light on my situation.

do you have any pictures of the soldering? Maybe it could be a bad connection on the pi, or the screen board? Hard to say what could be wrong without any pictures of the boards.

First would be to ensure the 5V mod soldering is good, then the soldering to the pi, and power to the screen is good. If the brand new screen isn't working I would assume it has to be an issue with the connections.
