Safe to replace the battery connecter?

I just bought this battery for my kite's circuit sword build (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Power-Supply ... /209877305) and then realized that the connector is wrong. Would it be safe to buy the right connector off ebay or where ever and replace the one that come on it. I'm fairly new to this kind of thing and do not wish to burn out my first project, or worse, blow of some fingers or light my apartment on fire. Thanks in advance.

The connector from the image seems like the correct one. If it's an issue with the polarity you can carefully reverse the wires by lifting the little tabs on the connectors and pulling out the wires. Make sure you do not have them touch which would cause a short and be bad.

If indeed the physical plug will not work for your application, you can cut and solder the leads to the new plug. Again, doing one at a time so that the wires do not touch each other.

Okay, good to know. I haven't gotten it in the mail yet, so i haven't been able to physically test it, but the tech specs on the product page said that the connector was a "2P 1.5mm Pitch". From what i understood the Circuit Sword uses a jst ph 2.0, are they essentially the same thing then or was i just mistaken as to what port the Sword uses? Sorry for the noob questions, like i said I'm still pretty new to this.

Also, good to know that i can just swap out the connectors safely if i need to. Thanks for the prompt reply.
