painting Shell

Post by phreaky » Mon Nov 12, 2018 6:18 am

Hi all

i'm in the process of building my first GB CM3 and pre-ordered the new Kite. While waiting for the board to arrive i thought lets start with the shell.

Well i want a smooth no texture high gloss shell and was wondering if somebody already achieved that, if so what steps were taken?

i know i have to sand and primer it and then paint it and then clear coat but i'm not sure if i will lose the texture like that.

any help would be great!

I'm not an expert, but I think whatever you do, the layers will need to be very thin to maintain the device "feel". If you go at it with a massive spray can in thick coats you'll definitely be able to feel the difference when you're done. I would suggest maybe an airbrush would be the best way to apply the colour?
