My first build, not so much... I went through Wermy's original guide, using a common knockoff pcb kit. it came out pretty rough, but it worked. I used a little too much hot glue around the switch, and my solution - tighten the screws! - turned out to crack the screen, so I only had it working and closed up for about 20 minutes before this:

and moved on to a new zero build, that I could (hopefully this time) finish successfully. I did - sort of - the case doesn't actually sit quite right on the lower left because I had to rewire some stuff form my original plan, and can't really remove any of the battery compartment... but at least this is *mostly* good. I worked pretty hard on getting all the case mods to be clean (and then after the reworking, messed up a few, but, again, still mostly happy with it):
I know a lot of people do the black/white thing, but maybe this is a slightly different take. I used the handheld legend buttons, with some retro-modding black silicon. the buttons have clear outer shells with white inners, and the black pads, which give it a neat outline effect:
