Problem with external USB

Post by JohnBurek » Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:30 am

Hello,

I know i'm kinda late to the party but I finally started working on my GBZ build with kite's SuperAIO board v0.5E1. I've been following the 1.1 guide up untl the initial boot phase. All the LEDs on the main board are working as they should, and I also get the 1 gamepad detected message in EmulationStation. The problem I'm having is with the external USB which wouldn't work for me, no matter how many times I tried resodering the USB port on the back board (yes, the port was turned the right way up :)). With all that being said, with all the sodering and desodering I managed to break the DM soder pad on the back board. Is there anything I can do to fix the mess that I've made and get the external USB port working, can I soder the external usb somewhere else?

Thank you for your response,
John

I'm aware that I also managed to break the connector on the back board  but it surprisingly hold pretty well so far. Also I had some problems with shorts (the pi would only boot if i held the mode button down) but that was fixed by running the iron on the back of the connectors.

Send me an email and I can get you the replacement back board and USB, don't forget you need to solder those little 3.3v jumpers (the PDF guide should show this as a step)
