GameBoy Zero DPI Adapter

Hello everyone,
I decided to build my GBZ with DPI Adapter from TinkerBoy and recommended display lcd from EBay,
but displays came without motherboards and i can't check that lcd's works.
Here is my question:
Can i solder the Pi to DPI Adapter and power it through dc on Pi itself to check displays ?? cuz i'm still waiting for my AIO Pcb to deliver.
