Home printed 3d for V3

Post by munchlax925 » Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:02 am

Just looking for some advice. I bought all the materials and supplies online save for the 3d printed parts because I have access to one at home. I acquired the .stl's from the website with the tutorial. Printed them out, drilled the holes and enlarged them with the files. I even checked along the way by putting in the boards if they were the right size. Now, with everything done, putting all the parts in they no longer line up. Should I salvage by enlarging the holes, scrap and get a new tin, or buy the parts online? Figures the one place I try to save money it messes everything up.

I have found the guide to be pretty accurate. I generally put the shoulder buttons in, put the power board in its place in the 3d part, put a card on the outside of where the USB-C connector goes, put the powerboard/3d part so the USB-C connector is flush with the outside of the tin (hense the use for the card), and secure it down and everything lines up pretty close every time.

I assembled it in the same order, the holes are the right size but the added width of the board on top of the 3d printed part causes the port to be just a little higher. Without the part, the board and port line up with the holes perfectly.

Just push the hole opening up a bit with a flat file.
