MintyPi won't turn off??
MintyPi won't turn off??
Hi,
I am a new MintyPi user, I only just built the V3 like a week or two ago but for some reason the power doesn't turn off when I close the lid, press the power button, or shutdown the system through the Retropie menu. It just restarts and stays on the home screen until the battery dies which is a real problem because I have to constantly have it on the charger which means I can't bring it places like in the car or to school.

Re: MintyPi won't turn off??
My only suggestion for this is to reflash the image. Sounds like something got corrupt somewhere along the line.

Also do you have the magnet in the LCD bezel? Without that it won't turn off when you close the lid. If it is there then try the reflash especially on a different SD card.

Re: MintyPi won't turn off??
Hi again,
I tried both of your suggestions and am still getting a restart. Is it possible that there is a bad connection somewhere?

I'm in the same boat. The magnet only causes a reboot, not a full shutdown. Have to use the power button to do the shutdown. Have tried the image mintyPiv3_20190721.gz on two cards, one generic Micro Center card and one SanDisk card. Same result. Also did an update through Minty Pi, but that didn't change anything. Possibly an issue with the PC used to do the flashing?

Update: Tried flashing both cards on another PC. Same issue.fragilityV1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 10:14 amPossibly an issue with the PC used to do the flashing?
Shutdown through EmulationStation doesn't work. Just restarts the system. But a hard shuttdown using the power button works.

Having the same problem. It only manifested after I did retropie core updates. My guess is there is a difference in Emulationstation versions that is not properly handled now with the shutdown script.

What happens if you reflash the image back to the mintyPi v3?roadmonkey wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 6:37 pmHaving the same problem. It only manifested after I did retropie core updates. Re: MintyPi won't turn off??
So I thought it was the update. But have found I continue to have issues post refreshing the image. Odd thought, but could anything be shorting pins 5 (SCL) and 6 (Ground) during the shutdown process which would trigger a "Wake from Halt" event?
